Ducati has officially revealed a factory spec motocross racing machine with the global debut of the Desmo450 MX Factory. This marks Ducati’s first factory-spec motocross bike and sets a clear direction for its off-road plans. Based on the Desmo450 MX platform, this version is built for racing and nothing else. The focus is clear on weight control, rider aids and hardware suited for repeated race use. Ducati is not chasing style or road appeal here. The Desmo450 MX Factory targets riders who value consistency, control, and measurable performance on motocross tracks.

It also signals Ducati’s intent to compete seriously in global motocross championships rather than test the waters.

Design remains functional and race-focused. The aluminium frame is carried over from the standard model but reinforced at key stress areas. Ducati has machined parts of the swingarm and wheel hubs to reduce mass. CNC-machined triple clamps are part of the setup, supporting front-end control.

The bike runs Ducati Corse colours, keeping its racing identity clear. A step-style footpeg design helps rider grip during standing sections. Wheel sizes remain standard for motocross, with a 21-inch front and a 19-inch rear.
Features play a major role in this package. Electronics include Ducati Traction Control, Power Launch, Quick Shift, and engine brake control. These systems are more common in circuit racing, so their presence here stands out. Riders can select engine maps based on track layout and surface conditions. A holeshot device supports faster starts, which can decide track position early. Suspension comes from Showa with coated internals, while braking is managed by Brembo calipers paired with Galfer discs.
Power comes from a 449.6cc single-cylinder Desmodromic engine. Output stands at 62.6bhp at 9,400rpm and 53.5Nm of torque at 7,500rpm. The engine works with a six-speed gearbox and a hydraulic slipper clutch. Ducati has added a full titanium exhaust from Akrapovic. Wet weight without fuel is 104 kg, supporting a strong power-to-weight balance.
