Ducati may recall Panigale V4 (2018-24) and Streetfighter V4 (2018-25) in India too, as 10,000+ US bikes from the same period face a rear axle safety recall.

Ducati has announced a worldwide recall for its Panigale V4 and Streetfighter V4 motorcycles after identifying a possible fault in the rear wheel axle. The defect, linked to the single-sided swingarm, may affect rider safety if not addressed. To resolve the issue, Ducati has launched an inspection and replacement drive across all regions. Owners will receive direct communication from the company, inviting them to visit authorised dealerships, where the axle will be checked and replaced free of charge. The brand says this step is part of its commitment to keeping riders safe on its high-performance bikes.

For India, the recall applies to Ducati Panigale V4 models produced between 2018 and 2024, and Streetfighter V4 units manufactured from 2018 to 2025. Ducati is contacting owners of these motorcycles to schedule service appointments at official centres. The replacement process will be carried out without any cost, ensuring a smooth experience for customers while their motorcycles are inspected and repaired.
The recall follows a 2023 incident in which a Panigale V4’s rear axle broke while being ridden. The wheel stayed in place, but the failure raised concerns about long-term safety. Ducati’s investigation revealed that the problem might be linked to a mix of high mileage, the motorcycle’s overall condition, or incorrect torque during previous maintenance, rather than one single cause.

Ducati has confirmed that the recall spans multiple regions. More than 10,000 bikes are affected in North America, Europe, and other regions. The campaign also covers premium models, including the Panigale V4 R and Superleggera V4.
