Hero MotoCorp has intensified competition in the 125cc motorcycle category with the Glamour X, which offers two of the most notable segment-first features—cruise control and ride-by-wire. The all-new Glamour rivals several popular 125cc models, such as the TVS Raider, Honda SP 125, and the Bajaj Pulsar 125. In this detailed comparison, we break down how the new Hero commuter stacks up against one of its key competitors, the Honda SP 125, in terms of design, features, and performance.
The Glamour X looks more muscular and aggressive than before. It has a robust fuel tank, sharp shrouds, and a modern 'H'-shaped LED headlamp. Other highlights include wider handlebar, a tall black-tinted windscreen, and a sportier taillamp section. In contrast, the Honda SP 125 features a clean and simple look. The headlight and taillight setup is LED, while the fuel tank looks muscular with a big 'Honda' logo. The eye-catching graphics add a modern flair, while alloy wheels complete the look.
The Glamour X and the Honda SP 125 both have air-cooled, single-cylinder engines. The former uses a 124.7cc motor and delivers a peak power of 11.40bhp at a higher 8,250rpm, and 10.5Nm of maximum torque at 6,500rpm. Meanwhile, the latter employs a 123.94cc engine that produces a modest 10.72bhp at 7,500rpm and a stronger torque output of 10.9Nm at a lower 6,000rpm. That said, both models feature a 5-speed gearbox.
The Hero and Honda 125cc machines are similar in terms of hardware. Both bikes are built on a diamond frame. They have conventional telescopic forks at the front and 5-step preload adjustable twin shock absorbers at the rear.
