While cosmetic and generational upgrades are common in the commuter segment, Hero MotoCorp has taken an unexpected step forward by equipping its 125cc Glamour X with cruise control, a feature typically found in premium motorcycles. Notably, this is the first for the 125cc category, especially at such an affordable price. While the real-world utility of cruise control on a commuter bike remains to be seen, the more immediate question is: how does the Glamour X truly differ from its standard counterpart? We delve into both models to explore their differences in design, features, and overall appeal.
Both models have a commuter-friendly design, but the Glamour X stands out with a bold appearance. It looks more muscular, compared to its standard counterpart, which sticks to a simpler, more traditional aesthetic. The Glamour X features a tall black-tinted windscreen, wider handlebar, and more underseat storage. It also gets all-LED lighting, with a unique H-shaped LED DRL at the front. At the back, the taillamp design on the X is noticeably sportier and resembles the setup seen on the Karizma XMR.
The Glamour X sees a slight increase in overall height, length, and seat height compared to the standard model, though its wheelbase and ground clearance remain unchanged. Where the all-new commuter truly sets itself apart is in the features department. It gets segment-first features such as a cruise control and ride-by-wire technology. Riders benefit from three distinct ride modes (Eco, Road, and Power).

Both models feature a digital instrument cluster, but the Glamour X stands out with a more advanced full-colour TFT display. This unit offers features like turn-by-turn navigation and Bluetooth connectivity.

| Length | 2,045mm | 2,042mm |
| Width | 796mm | 720/742 (depending on the variant) |
| Height | 1,126 | 1,090mm |
| Wheelbase | 1,267mm | 1,267mm |
| Ground Clearance | 170mm | 170mm |
| Seat Height | 790mm | 793mm |
| Fuel Tank Capacity | 10 litres | 10 litres |
Though both the Glamour and its more stylish X counterpart are equipped with 125cc engines, the latter offers a noticeable performance edge. It borrows its motor from the Xtreme 125, and delivers a max power of 11.40bhp at 8,250rpm and a peak torque of 10.5Nm at 6,500rpm. In comparison, the standard Glamour produces 10.68bhp and 10.4Nm. However, the 5-speed gearbox is the same on both models.
Underneath, the hardware remains similar. Both bikes use a telescopic front fork and twin rear shock absorbers. The braking setup of the Glamour X is expected to be similar to the standard model, which can be had with either a 240mm front disc or a 130mm front drum, paired with a 130mm drum at the rear. The X variant is also likely to skip ABS. Both bikes ride on 18-inch alloy wheels.
For a minimal price increase, the Glamour X offers a significant upgrade in features over the standard model.
