Honda Activa Achieves 3 Crore Sales Mark in India

The Honda Activa, first introduced in 2001, has officially surpassed the 3 crore sales milestone in the nation. According to the two-wheeler manufacturer, the Active is the only scooter in our market to achieve historic success in only 22 years. The scooter's journey spans over two decades. In these years, Activa has hit several milestones. Currently, the model is in its sixth generation in India and comes with Honda Smart Key. Mechanically, it continues with a 109.51cc, single-cylinder engine mated to a continuously variable gearbox (CVT). The Activa brand, which is associated with dependability and trust, continues to dominate the Indian market for two-wheeled scooters, according to Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI). Honda Activa: Journey Over the 22 Years

According to HMSI, the scooter accomplished several milestones throughout its 22-year voyage in the nation. After its debut in 2001, Activa rose to the top of the scooter market between 2003-2004. It crossed the mark of 10 lakh units in sales within the following two years.

In 15 years (by 2015), the company sold one crore of Activas, and further, it passed the 2 crore sales milestone with the two-wheeler in 2018. For many years, the Honda Activa has been the best-selling scooter in India, claims HMSI. The company reveals that the two-wheeler has attracted two crore new buyers in the last seven years. In a recent development, it has become the first and the only scooter in India to reach the 3 crore sales mark.
