Honda Activa E

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has taken a step towards a greener future by introducing its first electric scooters in the Indian market: the Activa e: and the QC1. These two models mark HMSI's 12th and 13th electric vehicles globally, aligning with the company's ambitious goal of launching 30 EVs worldwide. The Activa e: stands out with its convenient swappable battery system, while the QC1 offers a fixed battery and traditional charging cable.

Both scooters are key components of Honda's broader strategy to achieve carbon neutrality across its entire product range and corporate operations by 2050. Bookings for these scooters will open on January 1st, with pricing details to be announced at a later date. Here's a closer look at these new scooters.

Honda Activa e

Honda has introduced the Activa e:, an electric scooter inspired by its ICE counterpart. While it retains the same body and frame, the Activa e: sports a modern, minimalist look. The apron now features a central LED headlamp with turn indicators on the sides, complemented by an LED DRL. The scooter also comes with a compact floorboard, a long seat, and the "Activa e:" badge integrated into the tail lamp.

Under the seat, it has a swappable dual-battery setup powering a wheel-side motor. This motor provides 5.6bhp of base power, with a peak of 8bhp. Honda claims a range of up to 102 km on a single charge and includes three riding modes: Standard, Sport, and Econ, to match different riding needs.

Honda QC1

Honda is targeting urban commuters in India with the QC1, a new electric scooter. It shares design elements with the Activa e:, such as the apron and side panels, but has a distinct look without the LED DRL.

The QC1 is powered by a fixed 1.5 kWh battery, which charges through a socket on the floorboard. The in-wheel motor produces 1.2 kW (1.6 bhp) of base power, with a peak of 1.8 kW (2.4 bhp), offering a range of up to 80 km on a single charge.
