Honda has launched the CB125 Hornet, entering the competitive 125cc sporty commuter motorcycle segment. The new model is aimed at urban riders looking for a performance-oriented yet practical bike for daily use. Positioned to rival the Hero Xtreme 125R and TVS Raider, the CB125 Hornet brings a sporty design and modern features to the segment. It will be available in four dual-tone colour options. The company is targeting young riders who prefer style, performance, and everyday usability in a compact package.

Honda has confirmed that the official pricing will be revealed on August 1, along with the start of bookings. Deliveries are also expected to begin shortly after the launch date.
The Honda CB125 Hornet brings in a bold streetfighter look. It gets a sharp design, a muscular fuel tank, and split LED headlamps with DRLs. One feature that stands out is its golden USD front forks – the first in this segment. Honda has also moved the ignition key to the fuel tank and offers the bike in four dual-tone colours.

On the other hand, the Hero Xtreme 125R keeps it sporty with a sculpted tank and LED DRLs. Its glossy black panels add to the visual appeal, and it’s available in three colour choices. Both bikes are built to appeal to younger riders who want their daily rides to look sharp on the road.
Honda has given the CB125 Hornet a 123.94cc engine that makes 10.99bhp and 11.2Nm of torque. It’s paired with a 5-speed gearbox and weighs just 124kg. The company claims it can go from 0 to 60km/h in just 5.4 seconds, which makes it quick for stop-and-go city traffic.

Hero’s Xtreme 125R runs on a slightly bigger 124.7cc engine, producing 11.4bhp and 10.5Nm of torque. It also uses a 5-speed gearbox and reaches 60km/h in 5.9 seconds. But at 136kg, it’s heavier than the Hornet, which might be felt in tighter traffic conditions.
The CB125 Hornet gets a modern 4.2-inch TFT screen with Bluetooth connectivity via Honda’s Roadsync app. It also has a Type-C charging port and single-channel ABS. The USD forks aren’t just for looks – they improve front-end handling, especially on city roads.

Meanwhile, the Xtreme 125R sticks to a basic display that shows a gear indicator and has a USB charger. It also comes with single-channel ABS, but misses out on the smart tech and connected features that the Hornet brings in.
