Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India has added a new member to its popular commuter range: the Shine 100 DX. As the name implies, the model builds on the legacy of the popular Shine 100 and has a more advanced design and updated features. It stands out with a wide and sculpted fuel tank with a classic Honda logo, redesigned headlamp with subtle chrome, all-black grab rail, and a chrome muffler cover. The bike also features updated graphics on the body panels, which give it a more dynamic road presence. Honda is offering the Shine 100 DX in a palette of four eye-catching colours (Pearl Igneous Black, Imperial Red Metallic, Athletic Blue Metallic, and Geny Gray Metallic), and with modern features such as an LCD digital instrument cluster and a side stand engine cut-off. While Honda has not yet revealed prices of its recently debuted commuter, it did share that bookings for it will open from August 1.
The Honda Shine 100 DX is well-suited for everyday travel, thanks to its compact size and practical dimensions. It measures 1,955mm in length, 754mm in width, and 1,050mm in height.

The wheelbase of 1,245mm and a ground clearance of 168mm make the Honda commuter easy to handle and comfortable to ride on varied road conditions. The bike weighs just 103 kg (kerb weight) and has a seat height of 786mm and a length of 677mm.
The Shine 100 DX is driven by a refined 98.98cc, 4-stroke BS-VI compliant engine that produces a peak power of 7.28bhp at 7,500rpm and a maximum torque of 8.04Nm at 5,000rpm. Thanks to Honda’s advanced PGM-FI fuel injection technology, the engine offers precise fuel delivery for improved efficiency and seamless throttle response. For transmission chores, the refined setup uses a 4-speed unit.
As for the hardware, the bike has a diamond-type frame, suspended by a telescopic unit at the front and twin shock absorbers at the rear. Stopping power comes from a 130mm drum up front and a 110mm drum at the rear. The bike rolls on 17-inch alloy wheels, wrapped in tubeless tyres.
Since the DX is referred to as a more premium offering than the existing entry-level Shine 100, the prices are likely to be on the higher side. For reference, the Shine 100 is priced at Rs 68,862 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
