To celebrate its 90th anniversary, BMW Motorrad had shown us a very interesting bike called the BMW Nine T. The classic looking roadster looked so good that the company decided to send it into production.

The really interesting character of this bike is that it features state-of-the-art BMW motorcycle technology combined with classic, high-quality details. It blends classical styling cues with high levels of detailing and more importantly it is a naked fitted with a very high performance engine on a body that can be easily customized.

The engine is an 1170cc air-cooled boxer unit that is still found on the R1200R roadster, but the Nine T gets a new exhaust system from Akrapovic and a newly designed fuel tank and headlight. Maximum power on the Nine T is rated at 110bhp, which is perfect for a naked roadster of this size, and it can also reach a top speed of around 200km/h. The tubular steel frame is also completely new, however the suspension has been borrowed from the S1000RR, but without the adjustability. Although the Nine T looks like a classic motorcycle, its design and performance figures suggest a very entertaining ride. The handlebars are low and sporty, it has got large 320mm front discs and BremboMonobloc calipers and it also has ABS.

The Nine T has also been built purposely to allow for personal customization, and parts like the headlight, silencers and rear subframe can be easily bolted off. The only drawback of the bike is that it is priced rather steep for a naked, Rs 13 lakh in the European market. The Nine T is only available in pure black with high-level equipment. However, it gives you a lot of room for individualisation and can be given a completely new character thanks to the wide range of accessories available.
