Jawa 42 FJ Deliveries to Commence in India on October 2

The deliveries for the Jawa 42 FJ, which went on sale September 3, 2024, are scheduled to start in India from next month. The new '42' features various advancements over the standard model and is priced between Rs 1.99 lakh and Rs 2.20 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). It comes with upswept dual exhausts, a taller stance, and multi-spoke alloy wheels, which makes it sportier than the standard 42. Other notable bits are a sleek fuel tank (with a brushed aluminum finish and a 'Jawa' decal), an all-new single-piece seat, a split grab rail, and a single-piece handlebar. 

The 42 FJ is available in several colours, including Cosmo Matte Blue, Mystique Green, Deep Matte Black, and Deep Matte Black with Red Accents. The standard model, finished in Aurora Matte Green colour, has spoke wheels, while the other models have alloy wheels.

Jawa 42 FJ: Engine

Powering the new 42 FJ is a 334cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine, which also propels the Jawa 350. However, in the new machine, this unit offers somewhat greater power (28.7bhp) and torque (29.6Nm) than the latter (22bhp/28.1Nm). For transmission, it has a 6-speed unit.

Jawa 42 FJ: Hardware and Features 

The sportier 42 features a double cradle tubular frame, supported by a telescopic front fork and rear shock absorbers with 5-step preload adjustment. It has a disc brake in the back and a 320mm disc brake up front for braking. Other highlights include dual-channel ABS, a USB charging port, a digital instrument cluster (with Bluetooth connectivity), all-LED illumination, an offset speedometer, and an assist and slipper clutch.

Jawa 42 FJ: Market Competitors

In terms of market competition, the new 42 FJ competes with the Honda CB 350, the H'ness CB 350, the Royal Enfield Classic 350, and the Jawa 350.
