Jawa-Yezdi Motorcycles Prices Reduced by Up to Rs 16,930 After GST 2.0 Tax Revision

The Jawa and Yezdi range in India includes only bikes under 350cc, which makes them the main beneficiaries of the recently updated GST framework that has lowered the tax rate from 28% to 18% for wheelers below this capacity. However, motorcycles above 350cc now attract a 40% GST rate. Classic Legends has announced that it will fully pass on the tax benefits to customers, with price cuts of up to Rs 16,930. All motorcycles in the Jawa and Yezdi range are equipped with either a 293cc or a 334cc liquid-cooled Alpha 2 engine, with the latter producing 29bhp and 30Nm.

Commenting on the announcement, Anupam Thareja, Co-founder of Jawa Yezdi Motorcycles, said 'The government’s bold and timely GST reforms will bring a tectonic shift for the greater good, echoing the historic transition from 2-stroke to 4-stroke engines. Classic Legends welcomes the GST rationalisation, especially the reduced rate of 18 percent for under-350cc motorcycles, which covers our 293cc and 334cc Jawa and Yezdi performance classics.'

He also added, 'While it raises the tax burden for higher cc motorcycles such as our 652cc BSA Gold Star, we accept it as the hallmark of progressive taxation. The trade-off makes mid-segment bikes accessible to a larger rider community -- a win for India’s motorcycling culture.
