During India Bike Week 2023, Kawasaki India unveiled the new W175 Street model and the W175 model, the latter of which has been significantly modified to suit the Indian market. Compared to its previous cost, the W175 is now up to Rs 25,000 cheaper. The Ebony and Candy Persimmon Red colour options are now priced at Rs 1.22 lakh and Rs 1.24 lakh, respectively (all prices are ex-showroom).

In the past, depending on the colour option, Team Green's entry-level motorcycle was priced between Rs 1.47 lakh and Rs 1.49 lakh (ex-showroom). The revised pricing puts the Kawasaki W175 in a more reasonable price bracket.

Kawasaki W175: Design

Kawasaki W175 In Black

The W175 has a visually appealing design, resembling a miniature version of the W800. It features a simple semi-digital metre dashboard, 17-inch spoke wheels, a peashooter-style exhaust, a halogen headlamp with a circular housing, and a slender black telescopic front fork all of which contribute to the appeal of its design.

Kawasaki W175: Engine

Powering the W175 is a 177cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine, which produces a respectable 12.9bhp at 7,500rpm and 13.2Nm of torque at 6,000rpm. The bike's light weight of 135kgs ensures good enough performance, even though its power and torque figure may not seem very impressive. The W175 has a sturdy double-cradle steel frame and a five-speed transmission. A 790 mm high single-piece ribbed seat is supportive and comfortable, and its 165 mm of ground clearance makes it suitable for a wide range of terrains.

The bike is equipped with wire-spoke wheels and tubed tyres (80/100-17 front and 100/90-17 rear). The W175’s design is marked by minimalism and has an air of timelessness to it, thanks to its simple halogen headlight and largely analogue instrument cluster, along with a small LCD digital display.

The W175 uses a drum setup at the back and a single 270 mm disc with single-channel ABS at the front for braking duties. Due to the latest price cut, the Kawasaki W175 now has an advantage over competitors such as the Royal Enfield Hunter 350 and the TVS Ronin.
