Kinetic has brought back its well-known DX scooter in a new electric form. Launched at Rs 1.11 lakh (ex-showroom), the DX Electric has been developed by Kinetic Watts and Volts Ltd. It offers a range of 116km on a full charge and reaches a top speed of 90km/h. Riders can switch between Range, Turbo, and Power modes based on their riding needs and road conditions. The original DX, launched in the 1990s, was known for being gearless and easy to use. It was often chosen by families and women riders. The new DX Electric builds on that history, using an electric powertrain to support cleaner mobility.

Ajinkya Firodia, Vice Chairman, Kinetic India said, “The legendary Kinetic DX set so many firsts back in the ’90s, that it earned a permanent place in the hearts of millions. Reviving this icon was about more than just launching a scooter, it was about bringing back the reliability, innovation, and robustness that defined Kinetic for decades, giving it a future-ready soul. With the new DX, we’ve introduced multiple segment-first features that we’re confident, will make it a favourite in the new era of electric mobility. This marks the beginning of a bold new chapter for Kinetic and for the evolution of electric mobility in India.
The DX Electric features a metal body and includes simple features like one-touch access to the storage space and the charging port. Bookings are now open with a token amount of Rs 1,000 and deliveries are expected to begin in September 2025.
Kinetic has added cruise control to reduce effort during long rides. The company has also introduced the Easy Charge system, which aims to make the charging process more direct. The DX Electric comes with a warranty of 9 years or 1 lakh km, showing the company’s focus on long-term support.
