KTM 160 Duke

KTM has launched the 160 Duke at an ex-showroom price of Rs 1.85 lakh, a new entry-level option to its Indian lineup. Following the discontinuation of the 125 Duke, the 200 Duke was the smallest capacity bike available from the Austrian manufacturer in the country. The arrival of the new 160 Duke changes that, as it now takes the place as the most affordable KTM motorcycle, positioned just below the 200 Duke, priced starting at Rs 2.07 lakh (ex-showroom). The new Duke is sharp, sporty,  and accessible. It is available in three attractive colours: Electronic Orange, Atlantic Blue, and Silver Metallic Matte. Interested buyers can now book the motorcycle through KTM’s official website or authorised dealerships across the country.

KTM 160 Duke: Design and Features

The design of the new Duke closely mirrors its bigger sibling, the KTM 200 Duke, which is known for its aggressive stance. The bike features full-LED lighting, targets young riders and beginners with a sportier appeal, sharp front fascia, and a muscular fuel tank. It is equipped with a 5-inch LCD instrument cluster that offers smartphone compatibility, as well as, turn-by-turn navigation and controls for calls and music. The new Duke also features dual-channel ABS (which also supports off-road mode for enhanced safety).

The KTM 160 Duke benefits from lightweight engineering features such as bionic light wheels, a lighter hugger tube, and specially cast subframes that reduce overall weight without sacrificing strength. This results in improved handling and a better power-to-weight ratio. Moreover, the casted pillion step holder and grab rail enhance the bike's sporty appearance, comfort, and practicality.

KTM 160 Duke: Engine and Hardware

The brand-new Duke is powered by a 164.2cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces maximum power output of 18.7bhp at 9,500rpm and peak torque of 15.5Nm at 7,500rpm. This unit is mated to a six-speed gearbox and an assist and slipper clutch.

The bike has a steel trellis frame, supported by 43mm WP upside-down front forks and a rear monoshock with preload adjustment. Stopping power comes from a 320mm disc at the front, and a 230mm disc at the rear, with dual-channel ABS.
