The KTM 390 Adventure R is now on sale in India at Rs 3.78 lakh (ex-showroom), bringing a more off-road focused setup to the brand’s popular 390 adventure platform. The new Adventure R sits next to the standard 390 Adventure but pushes deeper into off-road territory straight from the factory. Instead of small cosmetic updates, KTM has worked on areas that matter on long rides, broken highways and trail sections. With adventure touring picking up across India, the 390 Adventure R arrives as a machine built for adventure riding conditions rather than showroom appeal.

It aims at those weekend escapes that slowly turn into longer rides, where wheel size, suspension travel and riding position start making a difference.
At first glance, the design looks familiar, but the stance tells a different story. The bike runs a 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheel setup, which is what most riders want from an adventure bike for better control off the road.

This setup gives the motorcycle a taller posture and more confidence when riding over loose surfaces. The body panels stay clean and purposeful, keeping the KTM identity intact.
The feature list remains strong and practical. KTM has equipped the 390 Adventure R with ride modes, traction control and cornering ABS, letting riders switch settings depending on road or trail conditions. The TFT display keeps things simple with clear riding information and navigation support, making it useful during long-distance trips.
The KTM 390 Adventure R runs the 399cc single-cylinder LC4c engine, shared with the latest 390 models. It puts out 45.3bhp and 39Nm, paired with a six-speed gearbox. The motor feels strong where it matters most, with usable pull at low speeds and steady power on open stretches.

Where the Adventure R really steps up is the suspension. The bike gets 230mm travel at both ends, supported by WP APEX components. This setup allows the motorcycle to handle bad roads, stones and uneven trails with better control than the standard version.
