-The KTM 390 Adventure X, 390 Enduro R, and other models have been recalled.
-Only bikes fitted with forged side stands are at risk.
KTM has announced a global recall for select models in its 390 lineup, including the Adventure X, R, Enduro R, and SMC R, due to a side stand issue. According to the Austrian automaker, inspections have revealed that engine vibrations can break the side stand spring, particularly in forged side stands. It is to be noted that the issue does not affect other side stand types. The most recent recall covers model years 2025–2026, and in India, it targets 390 Adventure X and 390 Enduro R, as other models aren't available here yet.
The company is taking swift action to prevent any risk and ensure that rider safety and motorcycle performance remain uncompromised, even though only a few cases have been reported so far.
KTM urges all owners of affected motorcycles to visit an authorised dealer to have the side stand spring replaced and a protective rubber installed. It also suggests temporarily securing the side stand with a rubber band or similar fix to ensure safe travel to the service center. For certain motorcycles, the recall service will also include the installation of a new side stand sensor retaining plate. However, dealers will notify customers if their bike requires this additional adjustment.

Customers will receive official notification by letter and will be asked to arrange an appointment at an authorised KTM dealer. The recall service is completely free and handled exclusively by KTM’s dealer network. Motorcycle verification and a complete list of dealers are available in the 'Service' section of KTM’s official website.
