KTM’s factory in Mattighofen, Austria, is running again after months of shutdowns. Workers are back on the lines, focused and hopeful, as the brand looks to bounce back after facing some serious challenges. Two production halts had raised concerns, but restarting the factory is a key moment in KTM’s effort to move forward. Production first stopped on December 13, 2024, due to heavy financial pressure. KTM used the downtime to restructure and plan a way out. After nearly three months, operations restarted in March 2025. But the recovery didn’t last long.
A second pause came on April 28, 2025, when the supply chain broke down. Parts stopped arriving, and the factory had to shut again. The breakthrough came when Bajaj Auto stepped in with support. Their backing helped KTM return to production, giving the team at Mattighofen a reason to look ahead.

Restarting production gives us the stability we need to fully refocus on quality, customer proximity and further development.'

The factory restart is focused on KTM’s core strength—offroad bikes. Workers are assembling models like the KTM 690 Enduro R and 690 SMC R.

While the Austria plant faced stops, KTM’s India operations stayed steady. Bajaj Auto kept production moving, and even introduced new models like the 2025 KTM 390 Adventure and the global-spec 390 Enduro R. These efforts show KTM’s aim to stay strong, even when conditions are difficult.
