Matter Aera

Matter, the Ahmedabad-based electric two-wheeler startup, is gearing up to launch its first motorcycle, the Aera, across eight major cities in India, including Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, and Pune, by June this year. Bookings are now open on both the company's official website and Flipkart, with special offers for early buyers. Commenting on the occasion, Mohal Lalbhai, Founder & CEO, Matter, said, ‘Bengaluru’s response was nothing short of phenomenal. With this next wave of city launches, we’re making AERA accessible to riders across India — delivering a product that’s not just high-tech, but deeply relevant to Indian roads and aspirations. Bookings are open — the future of riding is one click away.'

The Matter Aera boasts a streetfighter-inspired design, aimed at the young buyers, featuring a split-seat layout, curved side panels, and a dynamic LED headlamp. The sporty appearance, combined with advanced performance, aims to capture the attention of prospective customers seeking style and sustainability in one package.

Matter Aera: Key Specifications

The motorcycle has two variants (the 5000 and 5000+), both using a 5kWh battery providing a claimed 178 kilometres of range (IDC). It is driven by an 11.5 kW motor, which allows it to accelerate from 0 to 40km/h in just 2.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 105km/h.

Additionally, the bike offers smartphone connectivity, enabling users to receive over-the-air updates and track their ride. The Matterverse mobile app further extends the bike’s capabilities, offering remote features such as lock/unlock, ride control, live vehicle data, and geo-fencing.
