MotoGP-inspired KTM RC 8C Track Weapon is Here, Limited to 100 Units

KTM has unveiled the 2024 RC 8C track-only motorcycle, claiming to offer Moto2 levels of performance. Thanks to an 889cc, 8-valve parallel-twin, LC8c engine that is mated to a six-speed transmission, the race bike develops 133bhp (135hp) and 98Nm of peak torque, with a redline at 12,000rpm. The engine is modified with upgraded internals and includes a 48mm throttle body, machined cylinder head ports, new titanium intake and exhaust valves, titanium connecting rods, and a machined combustion chamber. What's more, the bike gets an Akrapovic racing exhaust with a carbon silencer cap. 

The 2024 KTM RC 8C is designed by the same team that gave you the KTM RC16. Unveiled by the factory KTM squad in February 2024, the factory KTM RC16 features the orange and dark blue livery that made its debut during the Sepang pre-season test. Drawing inspiration from the Grand Prix bike, the 2024 KTM RC 8C gets the carbon Kevlar-reinforced GRP bodywork, accompanied by a massive air intake and winglets for high-speed stability. Another thing that helps with downforce is a swingarm scoop. 

Also offered is a carbon fibre front fender with a quick lock system. The aerodynamic design of the RC 8C is complemented by a 5.0-inch TFT display providing access to engine performance, ECU settings, and lap timings. Other ride-related information is also offered, such as speed, lap times, throttle positions, and more. For ensuring optimal air intake and throttle response, there is an air filter box with a twin air filter. The feature list also includes built-in GPS. 

2024 KTM RC 8C: Hardware

Hardware-wise, the 2024 KTM RC 8C features a steel tubular frame, suspended by 43mm WP Apex Pro upside-down forks at the front and a WP Apex Pro monoshock at the rear. The braking duties, meanwhile, are handled by 290 twin discs at the front and a single 230mm disc at the back, with Brembo Stylema brake callipers and MotoGP-derived Brembo 19RCS Corsa Corta radial master brake cylinders. The bike rides on a pair of Dymag UP7X forged aluminium wheels shod with Pirelli Diablo racing tyres. 

2024 KTM RC 8C: Price and Other Details

Launched overseas, the 2024 KTM RC 8C is priced at $ 41,499 (roughly Rs 34.37 lakh). It is a limited-edition model that will have a production run of 100 units. The pre-orders available for interested buyers from Europe, USA, Mexico, Canada and South Africa open on March 20. The reservation amount is € 1,000. 

KTM RC, Adventure Lineup Updated in India

For 2024, KTM India recently updated the RC and Adventure range of motorcycles with new colour schemes. This was done to help the motorcycles retain their appeal. Other than that, the bikes remain the same.
