Bajaj Auto has expanded its electric scooter range with the launch of the new Chetak C25 in India. Priced at Rs 91,399 (ex-showroom), the C25 becomes the most accessible model in the Chetak lineup and sits below the Chetak 35 series. This launch clearly targets riders who want to switch to electric without stretching their budget beyond the Rs 1 lakh mark. The scooter is powered by a 2.5kWh battery and claims an IDC-certified range of 113km, which suits daily city use. Production takes place at Bajaj’s Chakan plant in Pune, and sales will happen through existing Bajaj dealerships across the country.

In terms of design, the Chetak C25 stays true to the familiar Chetak shape. It carries the same neo-retro look with a horseshoe-style LED headlamp and metal body panels. The overall form remains clean and simple, which many riders already associate with the Chetak name. Buyers can choose from six colour options. The metal body also adds a sense of durability, which is something many scooter riders still value in daily use.

Features on the Chetak C25 focus on everyday convenience. The scooter comes with a colour LCD instrument cluster that supports Bluetooth connectivity. Riders can access call and SMS alerts, navigation support and music controls using a companion smartphone app. There is also a side-stand sensor that prevents the scooter from moving when parked, adding a layer of safety. Under the seat, the scooter offers 25 litres of storage, enough to fit a full-face helmet along with small items.
Powertrain details are tuned for city riding. The hub-mounted electric motor delivers 2.2kW of peak power and 18Nm of torque. Top speed is rated at 73km/h, which fits well within urban speed limits. The battery is placed in the floorboard, helping maintain balance across the 107kg kerb weight.

The Chetak C25 enters a busy budget electric scooter segment. It goes up against models like the TVS iQube Orbiter, Vida VX2 and Ola S1X. With its pricing, claimed range and familiar Chetak identity, Bajaj is clearly aiming at first-time electric scooter buyers.
