New BMW CE 02 Electric Scooter Officially Teased Ahead of India Launch

BMW Motorrad India has teased the upcoming launch of the CE 02 on social media. Although the manufacturer hasn't disclosed the precise launch date, it has released a few images of the scooter with the caption, 'Hitting streets, sooner than you think'. The BMW CE 02 electric scooter is manufactured in TVS's Hosur factory, unlike its sibling, the CE 02, which went on sale in India as a CBU in July. It has a minimalist and functional design. BMW CE 02: Key Specifications

The BMW CE 02 has a straightforward appearance and minimal bodywork, with elements like a single-piece flat seat, a 3.5-inch TFT dash with Bluetooth connectivity, an LED headlamp, and a taillight. It comes with a 2kWh battery and a single or dual-motor arrangement, which allows for a range of 45 kilometres with a top speed of 45km/h and 90 kilometres with a top speed of 95km/h, respectively. The two variants can be charged from 0% to 100% in 5 hours and 12 minutes using a normal 0.9 kW charger. The 1.5 kW fast charger, which reduces the charging time to 3 hours and 30 minutes, is also on offer.

For suspension, the CE 02 uses a USD fork at the front and a monoshock at the rear. It features a 239mm front disc and a 220mm rear disc for braking. The electric scooter rolls on 14-inch alloy wheels, equipped with 120/80 section front and 150/70 section rear tyres. The bike's features include two ride modes (Flow and Surf), an electric reverse gear, USB-C charging, single-channel ABS, and Keyless entry.

BMW CE 04: A Quick Recap

The BMW CE 04 is a maxi-style premium electric scooter, priced at Rs 14.9 lakh (ex-showroom). It comes with a liquid-cooled permanent magnet motor that produces 61Nm of peak torque and 41bhp of maximum power. The motor is powered by an 8.5kWh battery,  which offers a driving range of 130 kilometres on a single charge. The EV boasts a 0-50km/h sprint time of 2.6 seconds and a top speed of 120km/h.
