Kinetic’s re-entry into the Indian EV scooter market with its new DX EV brings a retro-modern contender that revives the classic Kinetic DX nameplate. Priced around Rs 1.11–1.17 lakh (ex-showroom) and offering up to 116 km IDC range, it blends nostalgia with modern electric mobility. On the other hand, the Bajaj Chetak Electric, a familiar face in the premium EV space, delivers a refined blend of purpose and performance with a larger battery, slightly higher range, and iconic metal-bodied styling. While the DX EV aims to capture attention through its design-led features, Chetak’s matured presence ensures trust and reliability. Together, they represent two contrasting philosophies in India’s evolving electric scooter segment.
| Model | Base Model Price (ex-showroom) | Highest-spec Model Price (ex-showroom) |
| Kinetic DX | Rs 1.11 lakh | Rs 1.17 lakh |
| Bajaj Chetak | Rs 99,900 | Rs 1.22 lakh |
The all-electric Kinetic DX has entered the EV segment in two versions, the DX and the DX Plus, priced at Rs 1.11 lakh and Rs 1.17 lakh, respectively. Competing against it is the Bajaj Chetak Electric, which starts at Rs 99,900 and goes up to Rs 1.22 lakh depending on the variant. All mentioned prices are ex-showroom.
Kinetic’s DX range uses a hub-mounted motor with a peak output of 6.43bhp, powered by a 2.6kWh LFP battery positioned under the floorboard. The top speed is rated at 80km/h for the DX and 90km/h for the DX Plus. Claimed range stands at 102km and 116km respectively, with a potential to reach up to 150km in ideal conditions using cruise lock at a steady 25–30km/h. The scooter offers three modes: Range, Power, and Turbo. Charging takes 2 hours for 50 per cent, 3 hours for 80 per cent, and 4 hours for a full charge. A 15A charger is conveniently stored inside the glovebox through the Easy Charge setup.

Bajaj Chetak comes with either a 3.0kWh or 3.5kWh battery. The smaller pack delivers 127km range, while the larger promises 153km. Charging from 0 to 80 per cent takes about 3 hours and 25 minutes. The motor puts out 5.63bhp and achieves a top speed of 73km/h.
Kinetic has opted for a sturdy metal chassis and a flat floorboard. Its underseat storage is among the best in the segment at 37 litres, enough to fit a full-face and a half-face helmet along with essentials. Suspension duties are handled by telescopic forks at the front and adjustable shocks at the rear. Braking is managed by a 220mm front disc and a 130mm rear drum with combi-braking. The DX comes in Black and Silver, while the DX Plus gets five colour options.

The Bajaj Chetak uses monoshocks at both ends and combines a front disc with a rear drum. The model is offered in several shades, including Matte Coarse Grey, Pista Green, Hazel Nut, and Indigo Metallic.
In terms of equipment, the DX is loaded with modern features including Bluetooth-enabled speakers, hill-hold assist, cruise control, a full LED lighting setup, keyless operation, reverse assist, and an 8.8-inch digital display. The scooter also gets connected functions such as geo-fencing, real-time location tracking, intruder alerts, and a red ‘Ready’ button inspired by the original Kinetic Honda.
