KTM is making headlines with a new social media teaser, hinting at the arrival of a new Duke in the country. With the 200cc and 250cc models updated in 2024, and the 390cc bike refreshed earlier this year, there's a strong possibility that a new sub-200cc Duke is in the pipeline for launch. While the brand remains tight-lipped on the exact model, industry reports suggest that KTM is planning to launch the Duke 160 specifically for India. The 160cc motorcycle will likely replace the now-discontinued 125 Duke in the lineup. It is expected to be a game-changer for the brand and help position it as a strong contender in the small-capacity streetfighter bike segment. While KTM has not announced the launch date for the bike, it is anticipated to go on sale around the upcoming festive season.
The upcoming Duke is expected to take heavy design inspiration from its elder 200cc sibling, featuring a sharp front fascia and a muscular fuel tank. The motorcycle is also expected to borrow the 200 Duke's trellis frame, and its suspension and braking components. Additional possible elements include an upswept exhaust and a split-seat.

There's no confirmation, but the new small-capacity streetfighter from KTM is likely to use a downsized version of the 200 Duke's motor, promising a performance-oriented experience with an expected power output in the range of 19-20bhp. As a joint venture partner, Bajaj Auto's expertise in manufacturing small-displacement motorcycles is expected to play a crucial role, potentially providing the engineering and production support for this new 160cc platform.
The motorcycle is also expected to feature a modern instrument cluster with mobile compatibility, dual-channel ABS, and all-LED lighting.

Although it's too early to comment, we can expect KTM's new 160cc machine to come with a price tag ranging somewhere between Rs 1.70-1.90 lakh. Its primary rival will be the Yamaha MT-15.
