Aprilia has announced that it will not increase prices for the RS 457 and Tuono 457, even though both are now subject to a higher 40% GST under the revised tax regime effective from September 22, 2025. This strategy aligns with other manufacturers, including KTM, which has similarly absorbed the tax hike for its 390cc range. While buyers of motorcycles under or up to 350cc benefit from a reduced GST rate of 18%, those considering larger-capacity models now face a steeper tax, up from the earlier 31% (28% GST + 3% cess). With the festive season underway, many automakers have opted to shield customers from the impact of this increase, and Aprilia is one of them. Here's what you need to know about the RS 457 and Tuono 457.
The ex-showroom price of the Tuono 457 in Maharashtra remains unchanged at Rs 3.95 lakh. Meanwhile, buyers of the RS 457 enjoy benefits worth over Rs 35,000, effectively offsetting the revised GST hike. This comprises a direct Rs 15,000 price absorption and a complimentary quick shifter valued at Rs 20,500, offered across all RS 457 models in India. As a result, the RS 457 is now available in Maharashtra at an ex-showroom price of Rs 4.35 lakh, with the quick shifter included as standard.

The Aprilia Tuono 457 and RS 457 are built on the same platform, but their styling is different. The RS 457 targets track enthusiasts with its fully-faired body. Meanwhile, the Tuono 457's naked streetfighter look focuses on urban commuting and longer rides by prioritising rider comfort and versatility. Its exposed frame, aggressive radiator shrouds, and compact LED headlamp distinguish it from the RS 457’s signature triple-pod headlights. The Tuono’s riding posture also shifts from the RS 457’s low clip-ons to a higher, single-piece handlebar, resulting in a more upright and relaxed position.

On the mechanical front, both Aprilia motorcycles have the same unit, a 457cc parallel-twin engine that produces 47bhp and 43.5Nm and is paired with a six-speed transmission and an assist-and-slipper clutch. Both bikes come equipped with a 41mm inverted front fork and a rear monoshock, both of which can be adjusted for preload.
