Ola Electric, a Bengaluru-settled firm, has formally notified buyers that the S1 Air electric scooter's purchasing window will open on July 28. It is the brand-new entry-level model for the S1 range and there is only one variant with a 3kWh battery available. For those who have previously reserved the S1 Air as well as current Ola users, the window for purchasing this electric vehicle at an introductory cost of Rs 1.10 lakh will remain open only until July 30. Starting on July 31, this base Ola electric scooter will be available for Rs 1.20 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom. According to Ola, the deliveries of the scooter will commence in August. But before that, let's take a closer look at the features and mechanical specs of this electric vehicle.
Ola S1 Air: Mechanical Specifics
A hub-mounted motor, dubbed Ola Hyperdrive Motor by the manufacturer, is used in the brand-new S1 Air. 11bhp and 58Nm are the maximum power outputs this motor can produce. Further, it gives the e-scooter a top speed of 90 km/h. The electric model's suspension consists of dual rear shock absorbers and telescopic front forks. Drum brakes with CBS are employed to perform the braking duty at both ends. Three riding modes are also available on the scooter: Eco, Normal, and Sports.
Ola S1 Air: Features
As far as features are concerned, the Ola S1 Air e-scooter has a number of amenities including a 7-inch digital instrument dashboard, LED illumination system, OTA updates, smartphone connectivity, side stand alert, remote boot unlock, reverse mode, GPS navigation, and more.
Ola Electric June 2023 Sales
Ola Electric reported selling about 18,000 units in India in June 2023, a 48.5% drop from the previous month. This is significant because, in May 2023, the electric two-wheeler posted its highest-ever monthly sales, selling over 35,000 units across the nation. This drop should have been brought on by the government's decision to lower the Fame-II subsidy from Rs 15,000 per kWh to Rs 10,000 per kWh on May 22.
