Ola S1 Air Gets Neon Paint Option Ahead of India Launch Tomorrow, Bookings Open

The entry-level Ola S1 Air will be equipped with a 3kWh battery pack and a hub-mounted 4.5kW electric motor. In terms of mileage, the 3kWh variant will have a claimed range of 125 kilometres.

Ola S1 Air Neon Colour

Ola Electric has introduced a new paint scheme for the upcoming S1 Air scooter, ahead of its official launch in the Indian market tomorrow, i.e., July 28, 2023. According to the Bengaluru-based EV company, the brand-new colour scheme goes with the futuristic appeal of the electric scooter. For those who have already booked the S1 Air, the purchase window will be thrown open tomorrow at an introductory cost of Rs 1.10 lakh and will remain open until July 30, 2023. For the rest, the company will open the purchase window from July 31 onwards, with the S1 Air model costing Rs 1.20 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom. For those unaware, bookings for the said model are already underway at a token amount of Rs 999. Ola says that the deliveries of the scooter will commence in August. The upcoming product from the stable of Ola Electric will be the brand-new entry-level model for the S1 range.

Ola S1 Air Electric Scooter: Battery, Range

The entry-level model will be available with a 3kWh battery pack and a hub-mounted 4.5kW electric motor, which is touted as Ola Hyperdrive Motor. Power and torque figures stand at 11bhp and 58Nm, respectively. Ola claims that the vehicle is capable of reaching a top speed of 85 to 90km/h. A sprint from 0 to 60km/h is possible in 9.8 seconds. 

In terms of mileage, the 3kWh variant will have a claimed range of 125 kilometres. The scooter takes about 4.5 hours to charge from 0 to 100 per cent.  

Ola S1 Air Electric Scooter: Hardware Details

In terms of hardware, the electric model will be suspended with the help of conventional telescopic front forks and dual rear shock absorbers. Braking duties at both ends will be carried out by drum brakes, supported by CBS. Three riding modes will also be available on the scooter: Eco, Normal, and Sports. Additionally, the scooter will also have a flat floorboard and a grab rail. 

Ola S1 Air: Design, Features

Design-wise, the Ola S1 Air looks similar to the S1 and the S1 Pro. Apart from the new colour scheme, five dual-tone body colour schemes will be offered with the scooter, including Coral Glam, Neo Mint, Porcelain White, Jet Black, and Liquid Silver.

On the feature front, the Ola S1 Air e-scooter will be loaded with a 7.0-inch touchscreen display running the latest version of MoveOS 3.0, twin projector LED headlights, and curvy side panels. In addition, it will also offer OTA updates, Bluetooth connectivity, music playback, remote boot lock/unlock, GPS, reverse mode, side stand alert, and other amenities. 

Ola S1 Air: Pricing, Competition Check

Upon launch in India, the new S1 Air will be Ola's answer to the likes of the upcoming Ather 450S and the TVS iQube. Interested buyers can make their reservations at an initial amount of Rs 999.
