Royal Enfield Himalayan Review

Royal Enfield has increased prices for its popular middleweight motorcycles in India, with hikes reaching up to Rs 21,682 for Himalayan, Scram 440 and Guerrilla 450. These new prices will take effect next week and reflect changes in the country’s GST rate structure. While the cost has gone up, Royal Enfield clarified that there are no updates to the specifications or features of these models.

The largest price increase is seen in the Royal Enfield Himalayan, a bike that continues to enjoy strong demand. Price changes vary by variant, with the Kaza Brown edition now at Rs 3.06 lakh (ex-showroom) and the top-spec Hanle Black close to Rs 3.20 lakh. The Himalayan 450 keeps its 452 cc single-cylinder engine producing 39.47bhp and 40Nm of torque, paired with a six-speed gearbox, ride-by-wire, three riding modes, and a slip-and-assist clutch.

The Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450, a roadster sharing the Himalayan’s platform, has also seen a price rise. The Smoke Silver variant increased by Rs 17,387 to Rs 2.56 lakh, while the Yellow Ribbon and Brava Blue editions climbed by Rs 18,479 to Rs 2.72 lakh each. Performance remains consistent with the Himalayan 450 despite these adjustments.

The Scram 440 also faces a price revision. Trail Green and Trail Blue colours now cost Rs 2.23 lakh, reflecting a Rs 15,131 increase, while Force Grey, Force Teal, and Force Blue variants rose by Rs 15,641 to Rs 2.30 lakh. This model runs on a 443 cc engine producing 25.4 bhp and 34 Nm, based on the older Himalayan 411 platform.

For buyers, this means a higher budget is needed to own the Himalayan 450, Guerrilla 450, or Scram 440. The price hike aligns with new GST rules in India. Royal Enfield has clarified that while the prices have changed, the motorcycles themselves remain unchanged in performance and features.
