Suzuki Motorcycle India has begun recalling over 5,000 Gixxer 250 motorcycles across the country, putting safety first by investigating a potential problem with the rear brake assembly. This recall applies to certain Gixxer 250 and Gixxer SF 250 models produced during a specific timeframe after the company discovered the rear brake pedal might not always perform reliably.

The possible fault came to light during routine quality checks, prompting Suzuki to act quickly and responsibly before any real-world incidents occurred. The recall is entirely preventive, designed to address the issue proactively so riders can continue to enjoy peace of mind on their journeys.

Owners whose motorcycles are included in the recall will soon receive an official call from their local Suzuki dealer. Suzuki is providing free checks and, where needed, a complimentary replacement of the affected parts so that customers are not inconvenienced or left out of pocket.

According to Suzuki Motorcycles: 'It was found that a rear brake calliper assembly for DS250 was installed on GSX250, causing improper contact position between the brake pads and the brake disc. If the motorcycle continues to be used in this condition, partial wear of the brake pads will progress, and eventually, the non-worn areas of the brake pads will come into contact, resulting in reduced braking performance.'

The company says it is treating this matter with urgency and is committed to completing all necessary work swiftly and efficiently, guiding Gixxer owners through each step. Aside from the brake issue, Suzuki assures riders that there are no other safety problems identified with the Gixxer 250 series.
