Ola wants to reverse climate change and create a manufacturing revolution with S1 and S1 Pro E-Scooters

Ola Electric has finally unveiled the new S1 electric scooter and it is perhaps one of the most interesting launches we have had this year. First things first, the Ola Electric Scooter will be manufactured at the Ola Future Factory which will become the world’s largest two-wheeler factory making 10 million scooters a year. It will also be the biggest building in India.

This means that Ola Electric certainly has ambitious plans and their new S1 and S1 Pro electric scooters seem to be quite amazing enough for the company to fulfill its objective. Not just in India, the scooter will also be available globally.

Now let's look at the scooters. There are two variants: the S1 and S1 Pro

In terms of design, they are both the same with only colour options varying. The overall design of the scooters is quite appealing as it looks modern, fresh, and totally unique to what is currently offered in the market. With a seat height of just 738mm, it will be easy for every to ride. Both the tyres are 12-inch alloys and there are also disc brakes at both ends. The front suspension features a single fork and the rear gets a monoshock. They also have a decent ground clearance of 165mm.

Coming to the engine and specifications. The S1 and S2 get the same mechanicals but with different outputs. The S1 is able to draw out 8.5Kw and gets two riding modes: Normal and Sport. In Sport Mode the S1 can race from 0-40kmph in just 3.6 seconds and go on to reach a top speed of 90kmph. The S1 also has a maximum range of 121 km.

The S1 Pro on the other hand gets an additional riding mode called Hyper and this allows the scooter to race from 0-40 in just 3 seconds and 0-60kmph in only 5 seconds. It will also be able to reach a top speed of 115kmph, which is pretty impressive.

The S1 will take only 4hrs and 50 mins to fully charge at home but the S1 Pro will take 6 hours. Both have fast charging which allows for a 75 km range in just 18 mins.

But now let's talk about what really makes the new Ola Electric scooters amazing. When it comes to features these scooters are loaded.

The scooters get a wonderful 7-inch touchscreen system that will allow the rider to view all the information on the screen. In fact, this scooter doesn’t come with a key, instead, your phone will allow you to control everything. The Scooter gets a proximity sensor so it will start and stop whenever you walk towards or away from the scooter.

There are also speakers for you to listen to music and there is full connectivity including 4g and WIFI, and there is also full navigation. You can also customize the dash for your own personal liking and you also have different rider modes, so if your younger sibling decides to take your scooter, you can control the settings and performance of the scooter for their safety.

There is also enough storage space in the boot for two helmets, and there are different riding moods that allows you to change the sound of your scooter. There is Bolt, Care, Vintage, and Wonder that offer different display dials as well.

You can also receive and make calls from the display unit and there are additional features such as get home mode, limp home mode, reverse gear and you can also arrange for a service appointment at your home right from the display itself. There is also live tracking location of your vehicle.

The S1 Pro gets additional features such as Cruise control - yes... cruise control on a scooter. It also gets hill control and voice assistant which responds to all of your commands.

Now the best part of all of this is that the S1 and S1 Pro can be purchased in September and deliveries will start in October. Prices for the S1 start at Rs 99,999 and Rs 1,29,999 for the S1 Pro.

However, with the FAME Subsidy in certain states that price will be down. For example, in Delhi the S1 will cost Rs 85,099 and the S1 Pro will cost Rs 1,10,149.
