Top 5 Best-selling Two-wheeler Brands in August: Hero MotoCorp, Honda, TVS and More

In August 2024, Hero MotoCorp, Honda, and TVS were among the top 5 two-wheeler brands with a substantial year-on-year increase in domestic sales. Last month, the Hero Splendor Plus manufacturer took the top spot, selling 4.92 lakh units. It was joined on the list by Honda (4.91 lakh units), TVS (2.89 lakh units), and Bajaj (2.08 lakh units). Recently, Hero MotoCorp unveiled its much-awaited Destini 125 in India. The scooter gets an all-new design, bigger wheels, a fatter rear tyre, and an enhanced wheelbase. It also sports three variants – VX, ZX, and ZX+ – and seven paint options. Coming back to sales, here are some other brands that followed Hero on the list.

Hero MotoCorp

Hero MotoCorp reclaimed the title of best-selling brand in August, after losing it to Honda in July sales. As previously stated, the company sold 4.92 lakh units, representing a 4.08% increase over the 4.72 lakh units sold at this time last year. It had a market share of 30.11%.

Honda

Honda dropped from first spot in July to second position on the list in August 2024. The automaker's sales have increased by 8.97% year-on-year, from 4.51 lakh units sold in August last year to 4.91 lakh units sold last month.

TVS

In August of this year, the company had the second-highest year-over-year growth on the list, at 12.52%. It sold 2.89 lakh units last month, as opposed to 2.56 lakh units the previous year.

Bajaj

Bajaj witnessed the highest YoY growth among the top five best-selling brands, at 29.72%. In August 2024, the Chakan-based manufacturer sold 2.08 lakh units, up from 1.60 lakh units sold the year before.

Suzuki 

Suzuki remained the fifth-best-selling two-wheeler brand in August 2024, with 87,480 units sold. Its sales grew by 5.34% year-over-year.
