Hero MotoCorp sold the highest number of units in January and maintained its position as the best-selling brand in the country.

Hero MotoCorp remained the best-selling 2W brand in January 2026, showing sustained customer demand and a strong market footprint. Honda stayed close on its heels in second place, reflecting intense competition at the top of the sales chart. Meanwhile, TVS Motor Company held on to the third position. Bajaj Auto and Suzuki completed the top five, ranking fourth and fifth, respectively. Here’s a detailed look at how each of the top five brands performed in January 2026.
The Splendor manufacturer retained its number one position in January. It sold 5.20 lakh units during the month, registering a year-on-year growth of 26.15% over the 4.12 lakh units sold in January last year.

Compared to 4.19 lakh units sold in December 2025, the company also recorded a strong month-on-month growth of 24.08%.

Following closely behind, Honda recorded total domestic sales of 5.19 lakh units, exhibiting a notable rise of 28.94% over the 4.03 lakh units sold in the same period last year. On a month-on-month basis, the sales in the domestic market rose sharply by 32.44% from 3.92 lakh units sold in December 2025.

TVS closed January with domestic sales of 3.83 lakh units, translating into a strong year-on-year growth of 30.42%. Compared to December 2025, when 3.30 lakh units were sold, the company recorded a month-on-month increase of 16%.

Bajaj Auto sold 2.15 lakh units in January, marking a year-on-year growth of 25.35% compared to the 1.71 lakh units sold in the same month last year. On a month-on-month basis, the Pulsar manufacturer posted a sharp increase of 62.39%, up from 1.32 lakh units sold in December 2025.

The Gixxer manufacturer posted total domestic sales of over 1 lakh units in January 2026, showing a year-on-year growth of 14.19% from 87,834 units sold during the same month last year. On a month-on-month basis, the sales rose by 2.53% from 97,823 units sold in December.
