Having recently celebrated their first anniversary in India, Triumph Motorcycles has launched two new bikes for adventure and on/off-road enthusiasts.

The Tiger 800 XCs has an off-road intent with 21 inch front and 17 inch rear spoke wheels. It also takes advantage of WP suspension for superior comfort.

On the other hand, 800 XRx caters to those who spend most time on city roads and therefore lacks any rugged suspension system.

On the occasion, Triumph’s Managing Director Vimal Sumbly said: “Over the last few years, we’ve seen a growing interest in adventure category. The Tiger range is one of the most revered motorycles across the world in its category. To address this emerging need in the Indian market, we have launched the Tiger XRx and Tiger XCx.”

As the names suggest, both the bikes are powered by an 800cc three cylinder engine which delivers 93.7bhp and 79Nm of torque. It is mated to a six-speed gearbox, that incorporates parts from Triumph’s class leading Daytona sportbike.

Also coming standard with the bikes are a host of rider focused technologies such as the ride-by-wire throttle, switchable ABS, trip computer and the all familiar traction control.

The XRx is priced at Rs 11.6 lakhs, while be prepared to shell out Rs 12.7 lakhs for XCx (All prices ex-showroom Delhi.)

With the incoming of these two models, Triumph’s Indian portfolio increases to 13 bikes across five categories. The company also intends to open two new dealerships in India in the near future.
