The iQube Electric goes on sale in Bengaluru; bookings open at ₹5,000.

TVS Motor Company has launched a new electric two-wheeler in Bengaluru today - the iQube Electric. Priced at ₹1.15 lakh (on-road, Bengaluru), the iQube Electric is equipped with all the modern-day bells & whistles and will compete with the likes of the Bajaj Chetak Electric & the Ather 450.

The iQube Electric is powered by a 4.4kW (5.9bhp) motor that gives it a top speed of 78km/h and can propel it from 0-40km/h in 4.2 seconds. TVS claims the iQube Electric is capable of travelling up to 75kms on a full charge. Speaking of charging, the iQube Electric's 2.25kWh Li-ion battery can be charged fully in a matter of 5 hours and users can do so by plugging it into a standard 5-amp socket.

In terms of styling though, the iQube Electric seems to be more focussed on function and less on the form, given the fact that it's available only in one colour option (White). But it does get LED lighting and an illuminated TVS logo for added sophistication.

As for modern paraphernalia, TVS has equipped the iQube Electric with its next-gen SmartXonnect system. Controlled via a TFT instrument cluster, the SmartXonnect system, coupled with the iQube smartphone app, gives the rider access to a host of connected features & information such as geo-fencing, charge status, navigation assist, riding range indicator, ride stats, over-speeding alert, last-parking spot locator and incoming call/SMS alerts.

To ensure maximum comfort & convenience to the user, TVS has given the iQube Electric features like the Q-park assist, multiple riding modes (Economy/Power) to optimise the riding range, day & night display and regenerative braking.
