TVS Motor Company recently launched the Jupiter 125 SmartXonnect, and the big talking point is the introduction of a fully digital TFT screen that enables the rider to be connected to their smartphone while on the move. The Indian two-wheeler manufacturer now offers the SmartXonnect variant with Bluetooth connectivity which allows you to receive call and text notifications, over-speeding and navigation alerts, real-time sports updates, etc. Priced at Rs 96,855 (ex-showroom, India), the SmartXonnect is now the brand's most expensive variant in the model lineup, making it Rs 6,200 more expensive than the former range-topping Disc variant. Here, we take a look at three different variants of the Jupiter 125, with their prices and features.

TVS Jupiter 125 Variants Explained

TVS offers the Jupiter 125 in 3 variants – Drum-Alloy, Disc, and SmartXonnect – and all variants are offered with a 124.8cc single-cylinder air-cooled two-valve engine that works in tandem with TVS' intelliGO (auto start/stop) and ETFi (fuel-injection) technology. Mated to a CVT transmission, the engine belts out 8bhp at 6,500rpm and 10.5Nm of peak torque at 4,500rpm.

Here's a detailed look at each variant highlighting their key features:

TVS Jupiter 125 Drum-Alloy

First off, the Drum-Alloy is the base variant and therefore the most affordable Jupiter 125 you can go for. As the name suggests, it gets drum brakes and alloy wheels on both ends. In terms of design, the Drum-Alloy variant is on par with all other versions, while features offered with this variant include signature LED lights and a semi-digital instrument console, which is split into two sections – an analogue speedometer on the left and a small LCD screen displaying the trip meter, fuel level indicator, etc. on the right. You get all for Rs 86,405 (ex-showroom, Delhi). TVS offers this variant in 3 colours  – Titanium Grey, IndiBlue, and Pristine White.

TVS Jupiter 125 Disc

The TVS Jupiter 125 Disc has all the bells and whistles one would expect. While the Disc variant gets all of the features of the Drum-Alloy variant, these outwardly similar versions are differentiated on the feature front. The Disc variant gets diamond-cut alloy wheels and additional colour in the form of 'Dawn Orange', along with a front disc brake of course. This variant slots between the Drum-Alloy and the SmartXonnect, meaning it commands a premium over the entry-level model. The Jupiter 125 Disc is priced at Rs 90,655 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

TVS Jupiter 125 SmartXonnect

The TVS Jupiter 125 SmartXonnect sits right at the top of the Jupiter 125 lineup as far as features and pricing go. This new variant not only gets what the Disc variant (front disc brake and diamond cut alloys) packs, but also has a backrest for the pillion as well as a fully digital TFT dash with Bluetooth connectivity. To justify the premium of Rs 6,200 over the Disc variant, TVS has given the SmartXonnect variant hazard lights and a follow-me-home headlamp function. Priced at Rs 96,855 (ex-showroom), it is available in two colour options – Matte Copper Bronze and Elegant Red.

The suspension setup of the Jupiter 125 consists of telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear. The scooter's kerb weight sits at 109 kilograms, while the seat height on the vehicle is 765mm, which should be manageable for average-sized riders. Among other highlights are a 33-litre under-seat storage capacity, a USB charging port, and an external fuel filler. In the segment, the TVS Jupiter 125 locks horns with rivals like the Honda Activa, the Suzuki Access 125, and the Yamaha Fascino 125.
