TVS M1-S Electric Scooter teased

TVS has teased its upcoming electric scooter, the M1-S, which will launch soon in Indonesia. This model is the first outcome of TVS’s partnership with Ion Mobility, a Singapore-based electric vehicle startup. The M1-S is a rebadged version of Ion Mobility’s own M1-S, showing a joint effort between the two companies. While the launch in Indonesia is confirmed, there is no word yet on when or if it will come to other markets such as India.

The design of the TVS M1-S is based on the original Ion M1-S. It includes dual headlight clusters, a tall windscreen, and body panels with sharp lines. The scooter runs on 14-inch alloy wheels, which are suitable for city use. These elements suggest that the M1-S is built for regular urban commuting.

TVS has included several features in the M1-S to meet the needs of tech-focused users. It gets a 7-inch TFT HD display for ride data and a smart key system. Riders can switch between three riding modes and use the reverse mode when needed. Underseat storage of 26 litres is also available, which helps carry everyday items.

The M1-S runs on a 12.5kW electric motor supported by a 4.3kWh lithium-ion battery pack. This combination helps the scooter go from 0 to 50km/h in 3.7 seconds. It can reach a top speed of 105km/h and claims a range of 150km on one charge.

For ride comfort, the M1-S uses telescopic forks in the front and twin shock absorbers in the rear. It has disc brakes at both ends, offering better control. With this setup, TVS aims to offer a dependable electric scooter for riders in the growing EV space.
