TVS Motor Company has finally added a new product to its electric scooter range in India, which, until now, only included the iQube and the sportier X. The new electric scooter is called the Orbiter, and judging by its design, we can say that TVS has targeted the practical needs of daily commuters with its new EV. The Orbiter carries a starting price tag of Rs 99,900 (ex-showroom, Bengaluru, including PM E-Drive subsidy). It is available in six colours (Lunar Grey, Stellar Silver, Stratos Blue, Cosmic Titanium, Neon Sunburst, and Martian Copper) and a single battery option. The new TVS Orbiter competes against the established market players, including the Ather Rizta. Its focus on simplicity, practicality, and affordability makes it an ideal option for cost-conscious buyers, first-time EV customers, and urban commuters.
Typical of a practical EV, the Orbiter follows a no-frills approach. The design is straightforward, targeting first-time EV buyers and daily city commuters. The floorboard is flat (290mm), and the seat is 845mm long, and upright. There are some elements borrowed from the premium iQube EV, such as a full-width LED DRL. The LED headlamp and upright handlebars are also available.

TVS has equipped its third EV with a Bluetooth-compatible colour LCD console that syncs seamlessly with the TVS SmartXonnect app. Riders get access to smart features like geo-fencing alerts, live location sharing, turn-by-turn navigation, fall and theft detection and OTA software updates.
The TVS electric scooter comes with a single 3.1 kWh battery that enables a range of 158 kilometres on a single charge.
