Upcoming Two-wheelers in India in April: Aprilia Tuareg 660, BMW R 1300 GS, and More

April will be an exciting month for two-wheeler enthusiasts, as some highly anticipated models are set to go on sale in India. In 2023, we saw a lot of bikes enter the 2W market, including the Royal Enfield Bullet 350, Harley-Davidson X440, Triumph Speed 400, Scrambler 400, Royal Enfield Himalayan, and KTM 390 Duke. This year won't be any different, with a wide range of two-wheelers scheduled to hit the streets. With so many launches in the works, let's take a look at some models that are most likely to be available for purchase in April.

Aprilia Tuareg 660

Aprilia will introduce the Tuareg 660 in India on April 16. The middleweight adventure bike will have a 5-inch TFT screen, traction control, cruise control, engine map, engine brake, and three colour schemes  Atreides Black, Canyon Sand, and Evocative Dakar Podium. The Tuareg will use the same 660cc platform as the Tuono 660 and RS 660. Powered by a liquid-cooled parallel-twin motor, mated to a 6-speed transmission, it will produce 80bhp and 70Nm from a 659cc. The Tuareg 660 will feature an 860mm seat height and a dry weight of 187kgs. The suspension for the ADV will include a fully adjustable rear mono-shock and 43mm USD front forks, both of which will have 240mm of travel.

Hero Xoom 160

Hero's Xoom 160 is all set to make huge waves in the segment this month. The Xoom 160 is likely to come with keyless ignition, Bluetooth connectivity, remote boot access, turn-by-turn navigation, and full LED illumination, among other features. It will have a 156cc single-cylinder motor with 13.7Nm at 6,500rpm and 14bhp at 8,000rpm. In terms of market rivals, the Xoom 160 will compete with the Aprilia SXR 160 and Yamaha Aerox 155. The Hero model's ex-showroom price could be around Rs 1.30 lakh. 

Honda CBR650R

Honda will likely launch the 2024 CBR650R in India before the end of the month. The bike made its official debut in Europe in February this year. In terms of design, the motorcycle has a more sharp, contemporary appearance, which seems on par with the CBR1000RR-R. The bike is equipped with many features, including ABS, traction control, full LED lighting, and a TFT display,w which can be connected to a smartphone. The 2024 Honda CBR650R is powered by a 649cc inline four-cylinder engine, which delivers 94bhp and 62.3Nm. According to market reports, the Honda motorcycle may cost around Rs 8 lakh. 

BMW R 1300 GS

BMW R 1300 GS

BMW Motorrad is expected to release the R 1300 GS in India in the coming weeks. The new BMW R 1300 GS will pack an air and liquid-cooled 1,300cc boxer engine and a six-speed gearbox. The BMW motorcycle will be equipped with multiple features, such as keyless ignition, an updated version of BMW's Dynamic ESA, a 6.5-inch full-colour TFT display with connected capabilities, an additional 12 V battery, engine drag torque control, four standard riding modes (Rain, Road, Eco, and Enduro), and fully integrated ABS Pro. Globally, the R 1300 GS is offered in three different variants: Option 719 Tramuntana, GS Trophy, and Triple Black. The same options are likely to be offered in the India-spec model too. The upcoming BMW R 1300 GS is likely to be priced between Rs 22 and Rs 23 lakh (ex-showroom) in India.
