Vespa has launched the Officina 8 in India at Rs 1.34 lakh (ex-showroom) to commemorate Piaggio’s experimental workshop, founded in 1944 in Pontedera, Italy. The scooter carries the legacy of the Officina 8 workshop in a clean, purposeful design. The steel body is finished in an exclusive matte metallic Blue colour, inspired by the workshop’s tools, machinery, and uniforms. The look is further enhanced with metallic rivets and brass and aluminium accents. The Officina 8 is available in both 125cc and 150cc variants.
In addition to the scooter, Piaggio offers a range of matching accessories and apparel. The standard helmet and optional Top Box match the scooter’s colour, while premium apparel and accessories, such as hoodies, jackets, T-shirts, backpacks, and keychains, feature the Officina 8 logo. Every owner will receive a complimentary tin welcome kit, which includes a book that traces the workshop’s history and its role in shaping the Vespa.
Speaking about the launch of Officina 8, Diego Graffi, Chairman and MD, Piaggio Vehicles Pvt. Ltd said, 'The Officina 8 represents a significant chapter in Vespa’s journey. By way of these periodic special-edition products, Vespa keeps adding value and differentiating itself.'

He also added, 'This special-edition series pays homage to the craftsmanship and spirit of the original Officina 8 workshop while also introducing high-end merchandise in India. The exclusive Blue Officina 8 finish, paired with refined brass accents and a curated range of unified accessories elevates the Vespa beyond mobility into a true luxury-lifestyle expression. With this launch, we reaffirm Vespa’s luxury positioning in India and set the tone for the next era of iconic, distinctive design.'
Officina 8 served as Piaggio’s experimental workshop where engineers, designers, and mechanics collaborated away from the main production lines to develop and test new scooter concepts. Team's hands-on approach of building, reworking, and rigorous road testing ensured top-quality components and practical designs. Its pioneering work resulted in the 1946 Vespa patent, introducing key innovations like the step-through steel frame, two-stroke engine, and handlebar-mounted gear control.
