Yamaha launches flagship YZF-R1 and R1M starting from Rs 22.34 lakh

Yamaha has launched its flagship YZF-R1 and R1M superbikes at Rs 22.34 lakh and Rs 29.43 lakh respectively(ex-showroom, Delhi).

Both the (powerful) bikes use a 998 cc, four stroke engine to churn out 200 PS of power and 112 Nm of torque at 11,500 rpm. The engines is mated to a six speed gearbox and takes fuel from a 17 litre tank. Ground clearance of both the bikes is 130mm.

However, the R1M has higher factory specifications and this is where it makes leaps over its siblings. It comes equipped with Electronic Racing Suspension and has the added benefit of traction and slide control for superior grip at high speed. A launch control would give a head start over its rival if you happen to take this beast of a bike to a race track near you.

The R1M comes in dual tone colour schemes - blue and silver and red and white while one can purchase the R1 in blue, black or silver shade.
