Ford has now given us the brand new F-150 Raptor and a video with it showing how bonkers it really is.

The best selling vehicle in America by far, has been the Ford F150 pick-up truck. Mostly because of the fact that it offers so much car for its tiny little price tag of $25,000 (~Rs. 16,64,811/-).

Then Ford’s performance division, simply named – Ford Performance, got their hands on it to make the giant into a beast and gave it the name – Ford F150 Raptor.

Now there is a new 2017 version of the Raptor and its bigger, meaner, badder and surprisingly economical than before. The new 2017 Ford F150 Raptor Pick up truck does away with the 6.3-litre V8, and comes with a new 3.5-litre V6 EcoBoost engine with twin-turbo chargers and direct fuel injection that Ford claims is more powerful than the old engine. Ford hasn’t revealed the power outputs of the new engine, but says that it will be more than the 411hp of the V8 engine it will replace.

The EcoBoost engine is also mated to a 10-speed automatic gearbox with paddle sifters that sends power to an all-new, four-wheel-drive, torque-on-demand transfer case. The new car is 226kgs lighter than the previous Ford Raptor, and with its smaller and more powerful engine equals to better economy. The 2017 also sports 3.0-inch FOX Racing Shox suspension to deliver the performance of a beast on and off-road. Gone are the old small road going shocks, and say hello to brand new set that is claimed to have a travel of more than 12 inches.

India has been gradually opening up to the idea of Pick-up trucks for personal transport quite noticeably. In fact, one the biggest attractions at the 13th Auto Expo was the Mustang, and right across it was the Isuzu D-Max V-Cross which also had some eyes caught on to it and a small pool of drool around it. We’re sure if Ford pushes and shoves the Indian consumers, there might just be takers for a beast of similar quantities in India as well.

However, in case you doubt that a smaller engine will be enough for this beast, have a look at the video the guys from Ford have made to demonstrate its demonic looks and abilities.
