2021 Mg Zs Ev Launched

Changes to the 2021 MG ZS EV include an improved driving range of 419km (up from 340km), increased ground clearance, and more. The EV also gets a new Ecotree Challenge feature that tracks CO2 emissions

Just a year after the introduction of the ZS EV, MG Motor India has given it an update. The 2021 MG ZS EV is now priced at Rs 20.99 lakh for the base Excite variant and Rs 24.18 lakh for the top-spec Exclusive trim. To give you a comparison, the 2020 iterations of both these variants were priced at Rs 20.88 lakh and Rs 23.58 lakh respectively. All prices ex-showroom.

While from the outside it is hard to tell the difference from the 2020 model, changes are primarily focused under the skin. MG has fitted the ZS EV with a 44.5kWh battery pack. Although the battery capacity is the same as before, MG claims that this ‘Hi-tech’ battery that gives it a driving range of 419km. The outgoing 2020 model had a claimed driving range of 340km. Power output continues to be the same at 140bhp and 353Nm.

The ZS EV now also sits on different profile tyres – 215/55 instead of 215/50 – but they continue to be wrapped around 17-inch alloy wheels. There’s also been a marginal increase in the ground clearance and it now stands at 177mm.

Additionally, there’s also an new feature on the i-Smart EV 2.0 connected tech, Ecotree, that allows you to keep track of your CO2 emissions and compare them with other ZS EV owners. MG continues to offer a 5-year unlimited kilometers warranty on the ZS EV along with 5 labour-free services. While the ZS EV was only on sale at 21 select dealerships across the country, MG has now sell it in 10 new markets like Mangalore, Puducherry, Kolhapur, Goa, Calicut and more.
