With the new Baleno entering the production stage at Maruti Suzuki’s Gujarati manufacturing facility, the launch of the new hatchback is likely to be held in the initial weeks of February 2022.

The 2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno is likely to be launched in the month of February. However, ahead of its official launch, Maruti Suzuki has already commenced the production of the B+ segment hatchback. While there is no official word from the carmaker, the first lot of the new Baleno rolled out on January 24. The news has been confirmed by a spy picture, which has been doing rounds on the internet since our 73rd  Republic Day.

The new Baleno is likely to be launched by mid-February, with deliveries commencing around the same time. We suspect that the 2022 Baleno will be based on an all-new platform, which should probably make the hatchback safer than the current one on sale. The engine is likely to be the same 1.2-litre petrol unit; however, most of its internals are likely to be worked upon. The hatchback will retain its manual and automatic gearbox options. Expect a five-speed manual or a CVT with the new Baleno.

The prices are likely to see an increase of Rs 20,000 – 30,000 across variants. The current Baleno on sale retails between Rs 6.14 lakh (ex-showroom) and Rs 9.66 lakh (ex-showroom).

The new Maruti Suzuki Baleno will continue its rivalry with hatchbacks such as Hyundai i20, Honda Jazz, and Toyota Glanza.
