2022 Maruti Suzuki WagonR launched at Rs 5.39 lakh

The new Maruti Suzuki WagonR is out. The family hatchback now gets sports mild cosmetic makeover but a serious change in the powertrain department.

After the launch of the new Maruti Suzuki Baleno, the firm has silently launched the updated WagonR. The 2022 Maruti Suzuki WagonR has been priced from Rs 5.39 lakh (ex-showroom). However, this base price is for the Tour H3 variant which is mainly targeted towards te fleet buyers.

The MY22 brings along new colour schemes and updated drivetrain options. The top-of-the-line WagonR costs Rs 7.10 lakh (ex-showroom).

Additionally, the new Maruti Suzuki WagonR is also available on a subscriptions basis and the prices for that start from Rs 12,300.

On the outside, the WagonR now gets dual-tone colour options. That said, a similar theme –  dual-tone beige and dark grey melange colour – has been extended on the inside as well. The cabin also features a 7-inch infotainment system.

Coming to its new and updated powertrain; the WagonR now gets the same engine block but with a more advanced engine head – the WagonR also features the DualJet system. The 1.0-litre variant now produces 66bhp which is 1bhp lower than before. On the flip side, the CNG variant which is available with the same engine has seen a power dip of 2bhp. The CNG variant now pushes out 56bhp.

The 1.2-litre engine also features the DualJet head, which has shot up the power output by 7bhp. This engine now puts out 89bhp. Both the engines are available with an AMT, however, the CNG variant is only available with a manual transmission.
