2023 Kia Seltos SUV Launched in India at Rs 10.89 Lakh

Kia India has finally launched the much-awaited Seltos SUV facelift in the country. The compact SUV is priced between Rs 10.89 lakh and Rs 20 lakh. Both prices are ex-showroom. The revamped Seltos has a new exterior design and is equipped with an extensive list of high-end features, cutting-edge technology, and Level 2 ADAS. And yet the Korean automaker has managed to price the compact SUV fairly competitively. The new Seltos, which was unveiled earlier this month on July 4 is offered in 18 variants, with the top ADAS-equipped GT-line and X Line trim levels costing Rs 19.80 lakh and Rs 20 lakh, ex-showroom, respectively. The Seltos facelift recorded the segment's best day-one booking of 13,424 units last week. Let's now take a look at the key aspects of the newly launched 2023 Seltos.

2023 Kia Seltos SUV: Design Highlights

A completely new bumper with a wider grille, updated headlights featuring new LED daytime running lamps, which extend into the grille, and a four-block design for the fog lamps are among the highlights of the new Seltos' significantly refreshed front and back appearance. New inverted L-shaped taillights are connected by an LED light bar at the back, and the bumper has a sportier appearance. Along with eight previous solid colours and two dual-tone colours, the updated Seltos now comes in a new shade called Pewter Olive. The turbo-petrol trims come with dual exhaust tips, and the GT Line and X Line receive a slightly different body package than the Tech Line trims. The segment-best 18-inch alloy wheels are also standard on the GT Line and X-Line variants.

2023 Kia Seltos SUV: Interior and Features

Coming to the interior, the GT line has an all-black cabin with contrasting white inserts on the seats, giving it a sporty appearance, while the Tech line gets a dual-tone theme cabin with black and tan brown tones. The ADAS suite as well as the panoramic sunroof are the two major upgrades that enhance the vehicle's in-cabin experience. Dual-zone climate control, the first in a midsize SUV, cooled front seats with an 8-way power driver's seat, new-age Kia Connect, a Bose Premium sound system, and other features distinguish the redesigned SUV.

Furthermore, the revamped SUV features a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment display with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, a 10.25-inch driver's display, a 360-degree camera, and an 8-inch heads-up display. The ADAS upgrade includes 15 safety functions, such as adaptive cruise control, lane assist, high beam aid, and autonomous emergency braking. 

2023 Kia Seltos SUV: Engine, Transmission and Variants

The 1.5-litre petrol engine with 113bhp and 144Nm and the 1.5-litre turbo-diesel engine with 114.4bhp and 250Nm are still offered as powertrain options with the Seltos facelift. The latter is available with either a 6-speed iMT or a 6-speed automatic transmission, while the former comes with a 6-speed manual or a CVT. A new 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine with 158bhp and 253Nm of torque, mated to a 6-speed iMT or 7-speed DCT transmission, is also available. The HTX trim is the only one that gets a CVT transmission; the HTE, HTK, HTK+, and HTX trims get a 1.5-litre petrol engine with a manual transmission. The 1.5-litre diesel engine is provided with a torque converter automatic transmission in the HTX, GTX+, and X-Line trims, and it comes standard with an iMT gearbox on other Tech Line trims (HTE, HTK, HTK+, HTX, and HTX+). Earlier, the new 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine was only offered with the GT Line and X-Line trims, but it is now also available with the Tech Line trims.
