On April 1, 2023, the second phase of the BS6 emissions norms will go into effect. With this in mind, all auto manufacturers are updating their vehicles, and Maruti Suzuki recently launched the 2023 RDE-compliant Ignis at a price of Rs 5.82 lakh (ex-showroom). The Ignis hatchback's sole petrol engine has been updated to comply with upcoming Real Driving Emission (RDE) norms. Further, the hatchback is offered in six monotone and two dual-tone colour schemes. Turquoise Blue, Lucent Orange, Nexa Blue, Glistening Grey, Silky Silver, and Pearl Arctic White are some of the monotone colours. Its dual-tone paint options, which cost Rs 14,000 more than standard paint, include Nexa Blue (Black, Grey Roof) and Lucent Orange with a Black roof.

The Electronic Stability Program (ESP) and Hill-Hold Assist are two new safety features introduced by Maruti Suzuki in the 2023 Ignis. Aside from that, the hatchback has twin airbags, an anti-lock braking system (ABS), and ISOFIX child seat mounts. All of these features are standard on the Ignis 2023. The Ignis continues to include a tilt steering wheel, start/stop ignition button, automatic climate control, auto ORVMs, and a 7-inch infotainment touch screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

On the mechanical front, the Ignis remains unchanged. It is powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine that churns out 82bhp of maximum power and 113Nm of peak torque. It is mated to either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT gearbox. To comply with upcoming RDE regulations, however, Maruti Suzuki has updated this engine. Also, according to the manufacturer, the petrol engine of the Ignis has a 20.89km/l fuel efficiency.
