Audi has taken the wraps off its performance-centric iteration of the updated Q8 SUV – the SQ8. Revealed a couple of days ago as a 2024 model, the flagship SUV from the Ingolstadt-based manufacturer is equipped with a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine, which also powers the Lamborghini Urus and the Porsche Cayenne Turbo. Interestingly, the SUV automatically turns off one turbocharger at low speeds. The power and torque figures for the SUV are rated at 493bhp and 770Nm, respectively. This engine comes mated to an 8-speed Tiptronic automatic gearbox. With power being sent to all wheels, the performance-focused SUV can do the 0 to 100km/h dash in just 4.1 seconds and has a claimed top speed of 250km/h. In the model line-up, the SQ8 sits between the Q8 and RS Q8, which is yet to receive its facelift. Expect the Audi RS Q8 to make its global debut in the coming weeks. While the company hasn’t revealed the engine information, the RS Q8 Facelift is likely to continue with a twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8, rated at 591bhp.
