2024 Honda Accord with Interior Upgrades Debuts in Japan

The new-generation Honda Accord made its debut in the United States in November 2022, and then in China. Now, it's time for the home market - Japan to receive the Accord with a generational upgrade. The JDM-spec Accord will only be available as a hybrid and go on sale in the spring of 2024. Although the exterior resembles the U.S. model, there are significant interior modifications. There is a revised dashboard that includes a new bezel for the digital instrument cluster. Although the size of the screen remains the same, the trim around it has undergone changes.

The Japanese version retains a 12.3-inch touchscreen in the center console, but the climate controls have been replaced with a large round knob. The previous arrangement of 12 buttons and 3 small knobs is no longer there. Honda now offers an Experience Selection Dial that controls heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, as well as other essential features that can be pre-set for each user. While there is still time for the Japanese model to go on sale, let's take a quick look at some of its features.

2024 Honda Accord: Exterior and Features 

The Japanese version of the car has a similar exterior design to the U.S-spec model. It has a hexagonal grille and sleek LED headlights. The taillights feature illumination strips that extend almost to the Honda logo in the center. Apart from a slightly different color scheme and 18-inch alloys, the exterior of the Japanese model is practically identical to that of the US-spec Accord. Features-wise, the model comes equipped with a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, a 11.5-inch head-up display, and a 12.3-inch touchscreen, as well as a Honda Sensing 360 ADAS suite. 

2024 Honda Accord: Powertrain

Honda will reportedly offer an e:HEV self-charging hybrid option to Japanese customers. This comprises a naturally aspirated 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine with two electric motors and a CVT gearbox. Honda did not provide the output figures for this option. However, it is worth noting that the Accord is available in some regions as a plug-in hybrid and a petrol-only vehicle.

2024 Honda Accord: Availability

The Honda Accord 2024 reservations are anticipated to open in December of this year, with the first deliveries taking place in the spring of 2024 in Japan.
