MG COMET

MG Motor India recently announced the launch of the Comet EV with fast charging options. The EV's variant list has undergone revision and now comes with fresh features. The car was previously offered in three different versions – Pace, Play, and Plush, which have now been replaced by Executive, Excite, and Exclusive, respectively. Both the Excite and Exclusive are now offered with a fast-charging option. The Exclusive costs Rs 20,000 more than the Plush trim, while the prices of the Executive and Excite (formerly Pace and Play) models stay the same. With this, the Comet now has prices ranging from Rs 6.99 lakh to Rs 9.14 lakh. Both figures are ex-showroom figures.

MG Comet EV: Variant-wise Price

The price of the MG model's base Executive trim is Rs 6.99 lakh, while the mid-range Excite trim costs 7.88 lakh. The Excite FC retails for Rs 8.24 lakh. The highest-spec Exclusive variant, on the other hand, is priced at Rs 8.78 lakh, while the Exclusive FC costs Rs 9.14 lakh. MG Comet EV: Charging Time, Battery Pack, and Range

MG Comet EV Rear Three Quarter

When the Comet EV was first introduced last year, it was only offered with a slow 3.3kW AC charger. But with the new 7.4kW AC fast-charging option, the car can now be fully juiced up from 0 per cent to 100 per cent in less than 3.5 hours, which is a serious reduction in time in comparison to the previous charger's 7 hours. Moreover, the 17.3kWh battery pack offers a range of about 230 kilometres on a single charge. The MG variant is powered by a single PMS (Permanent Magnet Synchronous) motor mounted over the rear axle. The EV has a maximum power output of 42bhp and a peak torque of 110Nm. It further has a maximum speed of 100km/h.

MG Comet EV: Dimensions and Colour Options

The electric hatchback is 1,640mm in height, 1,505mm in width, and 2,974mm in length and has a wheelbase of 2,010mm. The Global Small Electric Vehicle (GSEV) platform, developed by SAIC, serves as the foundation for the Comet, and front McPherson struts and rear multi-link coils make up its suspension system.

The Ev is offered in five colour options – Candy White, Apple Green with Starry Black, Aurora Silver, Starry Black, and Candy White with Starry Black.
