The brand-new Audi Q6 and SQ6 e-tron models, which are the company's third series of electric SUVs, have finally been unveiled. These models mark many firsts for the luxury automotive manufacturer as well, including the first EVs to be produced at the company's Ingolstadt, Germany plant, the first Audi models to be built on the scalable Premium Platform Electric (PPE) platform of the Volkswagen Group, and the maiden examples of the brand's new electrical architecture and cockpit layout. It is built on the same platform as the Volkswagen-owned Porsche Macan EV and is utilised by Audi for the first time. With two electric motors and a rear bias for both power and weight, the new platform is equipped with an 800-volt system.

As mentioned before, based on the same PPE platform, the Q6 e-Tron and the Porsche Macan EV are genetically similar. There are two variants of the new Audi Q6 e-tron available: the performance-focused SQ6 and the standard Q6. A 100kWh (94.9kWh net) battery pack, which claims to provide a 625-kilometre range on a single charge, drives both variants. The SQ6 puts out 483bhp, whilst the standard Q6 e-tron's twin electric motors generate 382bhp. The carmaker increased the power to 510bhp and 456bhp, respectively, with the launch control active function, to enable faster acceleration.

The standard Q6 e-tron's claimed 0 to 100km/h time of 5.9 seconds is reduced to 5 seconds when using launch control. This acceleration time decreases further to 4.2 seconds in the case of the SQ6 e-tron. Speaking of the charging time, the former version can be juiced up from 10 per cent to 80 per cent in 21 minutes with a 270 kW DC fast charger thanks to its 800-volt charging capacity. According to Audi, a 10-minute charge can enable a 255-kilometre range. The auto major, however, has not yet disclosed all the spec details.

2025 Audi Q6 e-tron: Design Highlights and Dimensions

On the design front, sporting elements like the sealed-off Bulgarian Beard grille flanked by elegant light clusters, the e-SUV embodies the design language of other e-Tron cars. Along with a faux diffuser element on the bumper and customisable graphics, it features a recognisable connected LED light bar across the tailgate at the back. The car's dynamic aspect is attributed to its gently tapered roofline. Similar to Audi's existing SUV lineup, the side profile is anticipated to have basic proportions and clean lines. With a wheelbase spanning 2,899mm, the model's dimensions stand at 4,771mm in length, 1,993mm in width, and 1,648mm in height.

2025 Audi Q6 e-tron: Interior Layout and Features

Audi already revealed the Q6’s cabin at the Munich Motor Show last year. There will be a range of alternatives, such as matte brushed aluminum and trim made of sweetgum and birch wood. It's also important to note that the elastic melange on the S-line model is composed entirely of recycled polyester.

On the feature front, the crossover boasts a panoramic display that incorporates a 14.5-inch infotainment panel and an 11.9-inch digital instrument cluster. The latter is based on Android Auto and comes with an app store along with a digital assistant. Additionally, a 10.9-inch front passenger display and an augmented reality head-up display are available to buyers. With its shutter technology, the former allows the passenger to watch movies without causing any distractions to the driver. A 526-litre storage space, a 22-speaker Bang & Olufsen premium audio system, and an interaction light bar are some of the highlights as well.

2025 Audi Q6 e-tron: India Launch

Later in the year, the 2025 Audi Q6 e-tron and SQ6 e-tron will make their way into European dealerships, and reservations for the electric SUV are now being accepted. As far as the India launch is concerned, the model will likely reach our shores sometime in 2025. The Q6 e-tron is expected to cost less than Rs 1 crore and will sit beneath the Q8 e-tron in terms of pricing.  The Sportback versions of the car will follow shortly.
