2025 Kia EV6: Battery and Range

The 2025 Kia EV6 moves away from its earlier 58kWh and 77.4kWh battery options, opting for larger 63kWh and 84kWh batteries, which it shares with the updated Hyundai Ioniq 5. As a result, the top-spec 84kWh RWD model now offers a range of up to 513 km, a slight gain of 15 km compared to the previous Long Range RWD version. The towing capacity has also increased to 1,225 kg, enhancing the vehicle’s practicality. Moreover, the EV6 retains its fast-charging capabilities via the 800-volt DC system, but the charging port has been relocated to the left rear fender on most trims (excluding the GT), now compatible with the North American Charging Standard (NACS).

For 2025, the EV6 continues to offer both RWD and AWD configurations in its non-GT trims with improvements to its handling thanks to better steering and a sturdier chassis. The performance-focused GT, inspired by the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N, now produces 601bhp from its dual-motor setup, with a temporary boost to 645bhp in GT mode. This represents a 65bhp increase from the previous GT, boosting its performance. The EV6 GT also features the Virtual Gear Shift from the Ioniq 5 N, which uses sound and torque modulation to mimic the feeling of gear shifts.

2025 Kia EV6: Exterior and Interior

Externally, the design has been subtly refined, particularly with the introduction of new triangular headlights. A slim LED daytime running light (DRL) sits above the main headlights, connecting to an illuminated strip running along the gloss black trim. The lower grille is updated with a trapezoidal geometric pattern. While the full-width curved taillights retain their shape, the LED graphics have been updated, and the rear bumper has been redesigned. The new wheel size options – 19- or 21-inch - are now available, depending on the trim level.

2025 Kia EV6 Interior

The crossover's interior now sports a curved digital cockpit with twin 12.3-inch displays, a reworked three-spoke steering wheel, and a refreshed centre console finish. The operating system has been upgraded for faster performance, and new digital features come in the form of video and music streaming, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and gaming options.

Additionally, owners can personalise the display with their preferred NBA team’s branding via the Kia Connect Store. The vehicle allows users to unlock, start, and drive using their smartphone or an NFC-enabled smart card, with the option to share the virtual key via text. Driver-assistance features, including remote parking and collision avoidance, have also been refined.

Apart from this, the South Korean manufacturer has also enhanced the steering feel across all EV6 variants, now including power-adjustable tilt and telescoping functions for the steering column. The car benefits from added soundproofing, and its frame has been reinforced to meet stricter IIHS safety standards.
